IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Now you can effectively and quickly fade age spots, spider veins, rosacea, and blotchy skin due to sun damage with the revolutionary IPL elōs™ technology. Only elōs combines radio frequency and light energies to gently and precisely target problem areas, as an advanced form of medical IPL. The end result is clearer, more youthful-looking skin.

To ensure the best possible results we follow a 5-step tailored plan:

  1. Initial Skin Consultation: Skin assessment and skincare prep including Vitamin A, Vitamin C and sunscreen for at least one month prior to IPL treatment (in this time you will also be observing some fantastic changes in the skin).
  2. IPL Test Patch appointment (one month later) – this is not only crucial for safety but also to treat you at an optimal level for best results.
  3. 1st IPL treatment (from 2 days onwards)
  4. 2nd IPL treatment (one month later)
  5. 3rd IPL treatment (one month later

FAQs

What's the first step?
You must have an Initial Skin Consultation before proceeding with your first treatment – regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with treatment.

We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.

If you are already a skin client with us and have been using medical-grade skincare, your first step is the IPL Test Patch appointment.

What should I expect after an IPL treatment?
Some of your age spots and pigmentation will darken. After around 7-10 days these darkened spots will flake off leaving a clearer, more youthful appearance. Skin will appear more luminous after 10 days and redness will reduce between 4-6 weeks.
How quickly does IPL work?
You will often see significant change after just one treatment. Over the course of 2-5 treatment sessions, most people see a gradual and continual improvement of their skin tone. The total number of required sessions varies depending on the condition of your skin.

During your initial light consultation, your Medical Skin Therapist will recommend a schedule for maximum results.

Does IPL hurt?
Individual experience varies. Some people describe the sensation as uncomfortable and like the flicking of a rubber band.
How long does IPL take?
Generally, after your consultation, each procedure takes around 30 – 45 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.
Can your skin get burnt during IPL?

Our Medical Skin Therapists always do a test patch prior to any treatment to determine the best settings for your skin and reduce the risk of any side effects. Expect to have a patch test at your initial consultation, and return for treatment anywhere from a few days to a week later. Winter is a great time to have IPL treatments, as you should be out of the sun a month prior to and after treatment. This is because sun exposure can increase the risk of side effects or pigment coming back. For your safety we stop providing IPL treatments from the start of summer. You should wear your recommended sun protection every day and keep out of direct sun.
