BotoxⓇ for Lines and Wrinkles

BotoxⓇ for lines and wrinkles is a simple treatment that minimises the appearance of dynamic facial lines.

Cosmetically we use Botox® treatments to relax the muscles in the face that create fine lines and wrinkles and to prevent further deepening of lines. It is a simple 10-minute procedure, with a few tiny injections directly into the muscles we want to treat. There is an art to BotoxⓇ treatments – to achieve the best, most natural looking results it must be placed in the right muscle, in the correct place, at an ideal dose, by an experienced doctor or nurse. The most common areas we treat are the frown line, or ‘grumpy lines’, the horizontal ‘worry’ lines and the ‘crow’s feet’ around the eyes.

FAQs

What's the first step?

As with all of our injectable services, you must have an Initial Injectable Consultation before proceeding with your first treatment – regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with treatment. We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.

How does BotoxⓇ work?

BotoxⓇ is one of several ‘wrinkles relaxers’ which all work by relaxing the muscles that create the lines of facial expression. These products reduce the messages sent from nerve ending to muscle by reducing a specific message called Acetylcholine, which is the major message from nerve ending to muscle and sweat glands. We believe there is an art to BotoxⓇ and the wrinkle relaxing treatments. You laugh, you frown, you concentrate and when you do, these facial expressions break down the supporting structures in your facial muscles. The medicine needs to be placed in the right muscle, in the best dose, in the correct place. Our aim is to turn the muscle activity down, but not off, so you still have some facial expression. We use lower doses more regularly, which is why we are renowned for our beautiful, natural looking results.

Is BotoxⓇ for lines and wrinkles safe?
Yes, we use genuine BotoxⓇ, which has been safely used for over 20 years in a range of medical and cosmetic applications. We also have Dysport and Xeomin available, but we mainly use BotoxⓇ and use the most BotoxⓇ of any single site clinic in New Zealand.
When will I see results with BotoxⓇ for lines and wrinkles?

You will see results of your BotoxⓇ treatment in 1-2 weeks. The BotoxⓇ will gradually soften lines over this period by relaxing the muscles.

How long will BotoxⓇ for lines and wrinkles last?

We are famous for creating a ‘natural look’ with lower doses more frequently to avoid a frozen face, and we generally recommend repeat treatments every 3-4 months to achieve the best results. For some areas we use even lower doses and recommend treatment every 6 weeks. We charge for what we use (as opposed to per ‘area’), so it works out about the same.

What can you use with BotoxⓇ to make results better?

Dermal fillers: to fill deeper lines, wrinkles and facial contouring, volume restoration and facial enhancement. BotoxⓇ helps the filler last longer.

PRP: to thicken skin and improve fine lines and wrinkles.

Dermal needling: to improve the texture of the skin.

Vampire Facial Plus: combines PRP and needling to thicken skin and improve skin texture.

Medical-grade Skincare and Skin Treatements: research shows that improving skin quality and appearance alongside reducing lines improves the overall result

How much does BotoxⓇ at The Face Place cost?

We don’t give set quotes as every single treatment is tailored to the individual.

As a starting point, we charge $250 for an Initial Injectable Consultation with one of our highly trained nurses, or $500 with Dr Cat. This consult cost is deducted from your treatment cost, should you decide to go ahead on the day.

We don’t charge per area, instead we charge per unit of BotoxⓇ used – meaning we only charge you for what you use.

We charge $18 per unit of BotoxⓇ for a registered cosmedicine nurse, $21 per unit for a senior cosmedicine nurse, $23 per unit for an advanced senior cosmedicine nurse and $30 per unit for Dr Cat.

To give you a fair and honest quote, our clinicians must see you in person, determine the strength of the muscles in the area being treated and observe the interactions of your facial movements at rest and during animation (when you’re smiling, laughing and talking). Assessing all of these factors, ensure we give you the best, most natural-looking results.

Doctor Cat has 20 years experience in the industry and is a recognised trainer for fillers and muscle relaxers. Our top injectors charge a premium, as we use the highest quality products and invest significantly in ongoing training and development, so we ensure the highest levels of safety and quality for our patients.

We charge appropriately to ensure we provide our patients with the best care possible. We also take our time. Our consultations are one hour (or 90 minutes with Dr Cat) for a reason. It is essential that you are fully aware of the outcomes and have a clear understanding of what is involved in your treatment.

We also don’t have KPIs or commissions, so our team doesn’t have to ‘sell you’ stuff to make their wage! This means we use smaller amounts of filler and BotoxⓇ so that you don’t look weird – and although we ‘might’ charge more per unit or syringe, you often spend less or the same per treatment – AND don’t get sold stuff you don’t need.

Where else can you use BotoxⓇ?

There are many other places that BotoxⓇ can be used ‘off-label’ at the discretion of your clinician.

We are a doctor-led clinic subject to NZ Medical Council rules. In NZ, these rules do not permit any ‘advertising’ of off-label uses of BotoxⓇ. This means any areas other than frown lines, forehead, crow’s feet and hyperhidrosis.

If there are other common BotoxⓇ treatments you have heard of but cannot see mentioned on our website, please contact our team to discuss. As an advanced injecting clinic we provide a large range of ‘off-label’ uses of BotoxⓇ.

We can fully explain any of these advanced techniques when you come and see us in clinic.
