Dermal Needling
Dermal needling, aka Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) uses micro-fine needles that perforate the capillary network creating a cascade of growth factors that eventually lead to collagen deposition, thickening the skin, padding out pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
Dermal needling is highly effective for:
- Tissue regeneration
- Skin rejuvenation
- Collagen induction
- Scar reduction
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation
- Pore size-reduction
- Stretch marks
- Acne scarring
- Skin tightening
- Hair loss therapy
- PRP
We offer three methods of dermal needling – SkinPen, eDermaStamp and Dermal Roller.
SkinPen uses a sterile, single use needle cartridge that can be adjusted to determine the length of the microneedle appropriate for the skin concern that is being treated.
With SkinPen, Skinfuse Lift HG (a hydrogel product) is applied to the skin’s surface during the procedure. This is specifically formulated to use with SkinPen procedures to prevent friction and abrasion during the treatment. SkinPen may improve the appearance of melasma, pigmentation, acne and surgical scars and assists in the promotion of collagen and elastin.
eDermaStamp is a vibrational pen-like stamping device with a chamber that sits behind the needles and allows a peptide rich solution to be delivered at the time of treatment. We use this for our Vampire Facial Plus, to infuse the PRP solution.
The eDermaStamp is administered 4 – 6 weekly and has the advantage of a built-in chamber delivering the peptide solution and a much smaller head, allowing for more comfort during treatment and the ability to work closely in smaller areas such as the top lip and around the eye. It also has a function to alter the needle length depending on skin thickness (eg, longer needles for the cheeks and reduced needle length for the forehead, nose and eye area).
Dermal Roller is a cylindrical barrel with many micro fine needles inserted into the barrel which is rolled over the skin.
Dermal rolling has the advantage of being able to be administered 3 – 7 days apart for 6 treatments for optimum results.
All three methods offer excellent results and will suit different concerns and time frames.
