I’m currently in Monaco, attending one of the biggest and most prestigious conferences in our industry, AMWC, where over 12,000 clinicians from around the world meet each year to explore new research, techniques and technologies. I’ve attended this conference and/or Paris IMCAS for over to 10 years now, and relish the opportunity to meet with some of the world-leading clinicians who have become good friends! I have a regular group of conference friends who meet at these events each year and discuss what’s most relevant to take back into our practices. Many, such as Dr Jake Sloane from Sydney, Dr Nicole Kanaris from South Africa, Dr Sophie Shotter from the UK and Dr Simone Dorian from Melbourne, are top level speakers and trainers for the industry, and I am honoured to call them my friends.
The conference is only just starting, so I’ll update my learnings in the next newsletter! Watch this space!
Just before arriving in Monaco, I joined a select group of Allergan Training Faculty members to tour the Juvederm Factory in Pringy. I am incredibly fortunate that this is my second time to be invited – I went by myself in 2019 – as it’s a real honour. Not only do we get the VIP treatment touring the factory for the day, the research and development team share what new products are planned to be released in the next few years. There are some pretty exciting technologies in the pipeline!
The new clinic is finally underway, and we are hoping to have it finished by 31 May! The framing of the rooms is up and it’s huge – a whole lot bigger than our old Britomart clinic! We will be notifying you of progress as it gets closer to moving time, and will also remind you of the new address once we do move, but it’s exciting to see the progress happening slowly but steadily.
We have the Vampire Academy coming up on 21-22 April, where we train doctors and nurses in the Vampire Facial, Vampire Facelift, Vampire Breastlift, O-Shot and P-Shot. It’s always a highly rated course, especially for the sexual rejuvenation treatments, and we look forward to welcoming more attendees for the small group, highly practical training that we continue to offer.
Earlier this year I put forward our wonderful nurse Eve as a candidate for the Allergan Nursing Faculty as a trainer, and you may remember that she was accepted for the role. As part of her role, she was invited to Thailand last month to attend training with the world-famous Mauricio de Maio, inventor of the MD Codes that you might hear us talk about when we do your dermal filler. Mauricio is Brazilian, and so is Eve, so she was super excited to attend! She brought back some of his ‘Next Human’ techniques which up-level the ability to use the MD Codes, and Eve, being the excellent trainer she is, has passed this onto the rest of the medical team.
The medical team also attended a workshop with my dear friend Dr Jake Sloane held by Allergan this month. Sadly I missed it as I was in Mexico visiting my mum, but I hear it was an excellent workshop!
If you are travelling with AirNZ this month, keep an eye out in KiaOra magazine for an article about EmFace – giving you all the details on why this non-invasive treatment is revolutionising technology!!
It’s been a solid focus in the last month on training and new technologies, and more to come this month. We are known in the industry for our high level of training and commitment to exploring and critically assessing which technologies to offer, all of which adds to being able to achieve the beautiful, natural looking, personally tailored results that we are renowned for. We spend a lot more time in each appointment with you than most others in the industry, getting to know you, reassessing your needs each time, and providing quality education on your options.
It’s been a tough few years for a lot of people, but hopefully the tide is changing and we will start to see more financial freedom again for many households. We appreciate you supporting us, referring your friends to us, and continuing to choose us!
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter break with whatever you chose to do!
With much love and gratitude,
Dr Cat 😻
