Dr Cat’s March Update

Hola from sunny Mexico where I’m continuing to recover from my recent hysterectomy. Like Bali, Mexico is a very healing place for me – not least because my mum lives here! I’ve been enjoying sunrises and sunsets at the beach but it’s too hot during the day to do much here, so I’ll often retreat to my nice cool room at mum’s (named ‘The Cat Suite’ after me 😹) for most of the day and just chill or catch up on emails. I try to get to the beach every morning to meditate with the sunrise, and with the sun setting at 6.30pm every night, I’m usually in bed by 8.30pm! Life is very simple here, and I love it 🥰

Luckily I got the best present for Valentine’s Day – the results from my hysterectomy came back with NO CANCER 🤩🤩 It was a massive relief after all the drama of the last 4 years!

We also have another recent fabulous gift, the addition of Mina to our incredible team! I first met Mina back in 2006 and we are delighted to have her bright, bubbly warm and caring personality on our reception team at Britomart! If you haven’t already, pop into the ‘meet Mina’ section to find out more about the latest wonderful addition to our team!

With the colder months on their way, it’s time to start thinking about and prepping for IPL treatments, which we only provide during winter due to the increased risks if someone is tanned from the summer sun. If you are wanting to address brown marks/pigmentation/sun damage, vascularity/redness, rosacea, or general skin improvement, now is the time to come in and see the skin team to start working towards your IPL plan – if it’s right for you!

Lauren has written an excellent blog this month on the different ‘weapons’ the skin team can use to help improve your skin condition – it’s worth checking it out as it gives a good overview of the different modalities and where they fit – and why we choose to NOT provide some of the treatments offered out there!

If you have downloaded the ‘My Face Place’ App then it should be pretty easy to quickly make an appointment – whether for skin or injectables! The app remembers your preferences to make booking faster, and also makes it easy to complete any required paperwork before you arrive, saving you time in clinic. You can also check your treatment plan, and purchase skin products directly through the app. Check out the ‘My Face Place’ App part of the newsletter for more info!

For the doctors, nurses and dentists in our industry that follow us and read our newsletters, we have the Hyperhidrosis training workshop coming up on 12 March! Marjorie has written an excellent piece on the training and why it’s such an important treatment to offer. It really is a life-changing treatment for those who receive it! It’s up there with intimate wellness treatments for me in terms of the treatments I love doing for the incredible impact they have on people’s lives.

At the end of this month I’ll be winging my way to Monaco for the biggest conference for our industry each year, AMWC Monaco! I have several friends presenting on the main stages, and can’t wait to see what new technologies will be on offer for us to consider adding to our repertoire. We are always looking at and assessing new technologies, but very few meet our stringent criteria for us to feel confident in offering them. I’m 🤞🤞 that this year we will have some new and exciting technologies to share, alongside the launch of the new clinic in April/May!

As always, I’m beyond grateful for the support of our incredible team, and the support we receive from you as our patients/guests. Keep an eye out on social media this coming week for a great reel of the team celebrating International Women’s Day!

Wishing you a wonderful month ahead!

Love and hugs,

Dr Cat 😻

I got a shock. The results from the mastectomy were definitely not what I expected. You may recall that last month I was recovering from my second mastectomy and reconstruction, purely as a precaution because they found high grade pre cancer in the breast at a biopsy...
