Sexual wellness is a hot topic of late but to many, it’s quite a new concept. For us at The Face Place, the conversation around sexual or intimate wellness is one we’ve been engaged with for some time. It isn’t just about intercourse or self-pleasure. It’s related to our overall wellness, the quality of our relationships, how we feel in our skin, how connected we are with our sexuality and our emotional and physical well-being.
We reached out to our social media audience to hear from YOU directly. We want to understand what it means to YOU, in YOUR life, in YOUR circumstances. We asked:

The results were so interesting, we couldn’t not share! We asked Dr Cat exactly why this conversation is so important, she said:
“I’m so excited to see the conversation around Sexual Wellness opening up, and proud of our team for being part of (and initiating) these conversations.
As we can see from the poll, sexual wellness is an important part of most people’s lives, rated between 4 and 5. We definitely have a lot of patients commenting that their sexual wellness changes as they get older and after babies – I would have expected these results to be higher, but maybe some of the people we were asking were still in their 20’s and 30’s. I also thought that way more people would have faked an orgasm! I wonder how many men answered that question😹”
When we began offering treatments like the O-Shot, P–Shot and ThermiVa, we noticed one of the biggest barriers was the perceived stigma surrounding sexual and intimate wellness as a whole. We get it, these topics are sensitive and intensely personal. This is exactly why we’ve put a larger emphasis on these conversations, 1) to better understand what sexual/intimate wellness means to each of you and 2) to open a safe, confidential space for discussion. We’ve been able to pioneer this space and bring such topics to the forefront by offering the treatments themselves, and opening up industry-wide training to make them more accessible. The more Australasian clinics offering sexual wellness treatments, the more we can break down these ‘taboos’ by openly addressing the topics surrounding them and normalise the conversation.
Stay connected – there is so much more to come….
