FAQs
Will I need an initial consultation?
We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.
What causes excessive skin pigmentation?
Sometimes, hormonal fluctuations associated with pregnancy and the contraceptive pill can result in a type of pigmentation known as Melasma or Chloasma. This may not be suitable to treat with IPL.
What treatments are available for pigmentation and sun spots?
- IPL: is the fastest way to treat brown pigmentation. Treated pigment will go darker for 7-10 days, then flake off or disappear, leaving brighter, smoother skin.
- Natural Peels: work to exfoliate pigment deposits and reverse skin damage.
- Dermal Needling: aka Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) uses micro-fine needles that perforate the capillary network creating a cascade of growth factors that eventually lead to collagen deposition, thickening the skin, padding out pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
- Vitamin A/Retinol and Vitamin C medical grade skincare: is clinically proven to reduce the effects of sun damage when used daily as part of your tailored, prescribed treatment plan.
- Homecare: Treatments can only go so far but are best supported with a home skincare routine that supports and continues to care for the skin inbetween treatments. Our Medical Skin Therapists can analyse your skin and provide you with the products that best suit your needs.
