FAQs

Will I need an initial consultation?
Your skin journey with us begins with an Initial Skin Consultation. One of our skilled Medical Skin Therapists will assess your skin and devise a treatment plan. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with treatment.

We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.

What causes facial wrinkles?

Facial wrinkles are caused by a number of factors;

Dynamic lines – these are wrinkles that are caused by contraction of the muscles of facial expression. Repeated compression of the skin along these lines breaks down the collagen fibres which support the skin to form specific lines and wrinkles. Initially, these wrinkles can only be seen when the muscles contract e.g when you smile/frown, however, as the skin gets older, the skin cells become lazier and there are fewer of them, so it becomes more creased and the lines may often appear at rest.

Loss of facial volume – When we are younger, our face is more plump and full, as time passes, this volume is lost around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead. This loss of volume leads to some bagginess of skin and the formation of wrinkles.

Sun damage – UV exposure is the leading cause of premature ageing. Exposure to UV light breaks down your skin’s connective tissue — collagen and elastin fibers.

Hormonal changes – Estrogens are anti-inflammatory; they increase hydration and structural integrity, increase collagen production. Decreased levels of female sex hormones during menopause result in thinning and increased wrinkling of the skin, reduced elasticity, firmness and strength. Because of these effects, capillaries are reduced and therefore blood flow, lessening nutrients to the skin.

What skin treatments are available for lines and wrinkles?
  • Medical Grade Skin Care: is the foundation to prepare the skin for other treatments, stimulate normal healthy function and maintain results
  • Healite Therapy: stimulates your skin’s natural repair, improving collagen production and giving your skin cells more energy. Over a course of treatments fine lines soften and skin appears fresher. Can also improve recovery after injectable treatments.
  • Dermal Needling: stimulates collagen and improves production, thickening the skin, padding out pores, fine lines and wrinkles
  • Natural Peels: remove the dead layer of skin cells, improving oil flow and hydration to give a healthy glow to the skin.
  • Platelet-Rich Plasma: to tighten and repair the skin. Cellular Matrix PRP is excellent for fine lines around the mouth, cheeks, neck and chest
  • EMFACE: utilises the simultaneous application of Synchronized RF (Radio Frequency) and HIFES™ (High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation) technologies to affect facial skin, muscles, and connective tissue. The end result is less wrinkles and more lift.
  • Exion RF Needling: revolutionises skin rejuvenation with its advanced technology and target approach. Exion utilises AI and radiofrequency to penetrate the skin in the most effective way to stimulate collagen production and promote tissue remodelling.
