Laser treatment for hair reduction helps to reduce hair growth in the long term by permanently damaging the hair follicle that the hair grows from. It is an effective alternative to waxing and shaving and much longer-lasting.

Multiple sessions are usually required to achieve good results, as all permanent hair reduction therapies can only treat the hair in the active phase of growth – and up to 80% of hair is in the non-treatable dormant phase at any one time.

Where do I begin?

As with all of our skin treatments, you must have an Initial Skin Consultation before proceeding with your first treatment – regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with treatment.

Is Laser treatment for hair reduction safe?

Yes, laser treatment is effective and proven. It is a non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual concerns and skin type.

Does Laser treatment for hair reduction hurt?

A gel is applied to the area to be treated and you will be given dark eyewear to protect your eyes. You feel the smooth, cold surface of the Laser head gently pressed against your skin as it applies pulses of light. You may feel a sting or flicking sensation. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities.

How long does Laser treatment take?

Treatment is generally administered in a series of 6-12 sessions spaced at 4-8 week intervals for excellent long-term results. Treatments are booked half hourly or hourly, depending on your specific needs.

What should I expect after Laser treatment?

You may experience some reddening and/or local swelling at the treatment site, but this typically goes away within hours.

On rare occasions, clients may experience some pain, crusting, blistering or bruising, but this typically resolves quickly. The skin can become darker or lighter following treatment, but will generally return to normal within a few weeks.

Limiting sun exposure before and after each treatment will minimize the risk of complications. Following the treatment, you can generally return to work and resume all regular activities immediately.

How quickly does Laser hair reduction work?

Depending on the colour and thickness of the hair you are treating, a series of 6-10 treatments may be required.

How long will permanent hair reduction last?

After a series of 6-12 treatments you will experience permanent hair reduction in the treated area, unless new hair follicles are activated by hormonal stimulation.

Why do I need a series of permanent hair reduction treatments?

Hair growth occurs in a three-part growth phase: active, dormant, and transitional. To maximise the removal and delay of regrowth, hair must be treated while in the active phase. Since each hair on the body has its own individual growth cycle, a course of treatments over time disables each hair follicle while in its active growth phase.
